The blood which has been not saturated by oxygen stands in capillaries under eyes and starts to appear through dark circles. Dark circles and bags under the eyes can come since the earliest childhood to people with very light, gentle and thin skin. The low level of moisture content in fabrics aggravates this effect: the skin around of eyes becomes even more transparent, and circles under the eyes look sunk down.

For stimulation of blood circulation around of eyes it is possible to impose on eyelids cold compresses. Thus it is possible to use both usual cold water, and non-alcoholic scented water. It is necessary to exclude from the menu spicies and a spicy food which can excite unstable nervous system.  The further treatment depends on what will be established as the reason of dark circles or bags under the eyes.

If circles have appeared owing to use in solar weather of creams with the maintenance of fruit acids it is necessary to refuse their use, and before going out to put on skin of the face a sun-protective cream.   In case of the hereditary predisposition and anatomic features it is necessary to look after your skin very carefully. In opinion of many cosmeticians it is worth of starting to look after the skin under your eyes from 20-25 years.

How to stay slim and beautiful after Christmas and New Year’s celebrations?

January 9th, 2007 by webmaster

Hello Ladies! Our today’s discussion will be devoted to the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations and …their impact on our beauty.

Winter brings us snow, long evenings at our cozy houses with a cup of tea and a cat on our knees, Christmas with a lot of presents, magic and romance, belief in something beautiful and unreal. It seems like ″everything gets lost″ in the sweetness of chocolate, candies and wine, and one day you get up and understand that you feel ″uncomfortable″ in your favorite jeans!!! O, no!!! A lot of tasty food, wine, cola and candies and be ready to say goodbye to your slim body. Anyway, how to keep in form despite all these holidays? Here, we have some ways on how to keep in form and to stay beautiful after the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations:

  • Try to think over the menu and choose what dishes would be tasty and useful for your health, and what food is to be avoided.
  • The most important rule is to understand, that it is your parents and friends but food are the main part of the holiday, so you’d rather concentrate on people-to-people contact, share your hopes and thoughts with them, then try to look for ″something to eat″.
  • Forget about your problems, try to dance, and sing, play with children, share your smile and chocolate with someone who really needs you! Good luck!

10 Things to Ask/Tell Your Hairstylist

    January 5th, 2007 by webmaster

A good stylist will see at least 30 (sometimes more) customers a week. His regular customers, he will be familiar with, but what about the new faces? Understandably, that puts him in an awkward situation. I have put together a few tips that will help the both of you.  So how do I know so much about this topic? My son is a stylist and he taught me everything I know! ;)

    1. According to Jamie, he sees a lot of “walk-ins.  That means to him, you are a complete stranger. He doesn’t know anything about you until you tell him. So, if you are one of these walk-ins… go prepared.

    2. If you don’t like what your stylist has done, be sure to tell him. Walking out in a huff doesn’t accomplish anything. Usually, it simply takes a little adjusting to keep the client happy and your stylist  wants you to be happy. That’s the only way to get you to come back.

    3. If you like a particular hairstyle that you found in a magazine, feel free to take it with you. It will give the stylist an idea of what you are looking for, but don’t be disappointed if he can’t completely copy it.  Hair comes in a lot of different textures and all of that comes into play. If you want a style that needs to be fine and straight, and your hair is coarse and curly, you might be out of luck. But, he can often suggest something similar.

    4.  Be sure to ask about the health of your hair. You really don’t want those split ends to start traveling up the hair shaft. Most of the time a stylist will point it out to you, but in case they are in a hurry, just ask.

    5. It is part of their job to sell you products, so don’t feel that you have to buy something you really don’t want. On the other hand, each stylist knows what works and what doesn’t. If you aren’t happy with the conditioner that you are using, ask for a little help.
And if you can’t afford the products on that particular day, ask to have the product names written down so you can come back on another day. They will be more than happy to accommodate you.

    6. Ask the stylist to recommend tools that might make the job of styling your hair easier. I had no idea just how much I would love my straightening iron. In seconds I can take the curl out of my bangs and it makes a huge difference!

    7. Looking for a new color? Yes, sometimes we get bored with the color that we have been given and if you aren’t careful, you can choose something that doesn’t work for your skin tones. Have definitely been there and done that! I didn’t know that I couldn’t use ash tones with my warm complexion. Who knew?? That’s where having a son in the business comes in very handy.
    8. Ask how long the stylist has been in the industry and even better, try to find out if he has updated his skills.  At the moment, my son has taken a week off work at his regular salon, to study at Vidal Sassoon. It just set him back about a thousand dollars. Now that is dedication, but he wants to be the best.

    9. Are you just a wee bit bored with your style? If you are really adventurous, you might consider turning yourself over to the stylist for something really new and trendy. All you have to do is say the word and then sit back and see what they come up with.

    10. According to my son, what you eat can affect your hair! I guess it makes sense when you think about it. So, feel free to pick their brains. They know a lot more than you do on the subject of hair, so you might as well learn as much as you can.

    Shea Butter in Skincare Products

    January 5th, 2007 by webmaster

Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of Karite trees which grow in West and Central Africa.   It is a non-toxic, fatty oil and it is often used in cooking as well as in skin care products.
But the benefits of shea butter in skin care products are many.  It’s ultra-moisturizing, aids in the regeneration of healthy skin cells, helps maintain the elasticity of skin, and provides some sun-protection.  There have also been studies suggesting that shea butter increases circulation in the capillaries close to the skin’s surface, which also increases re-oxygenation of the skin as well. The sweet smell of shea butter is lovely on its own, but is subtle enough to be combined with and enhance nearly all other fragrances.
Shea butter is gaining popularity as an ingredient in soaps and other cleansing products, as well as in moisturizing lotions, and for good reason.  After trying shea butter, you may never want to use another cleanser or lotion without it.
