IQ myths

Myth â„–1 The final figure, being given to you after the end of the IQ test, is a parameter of your mind and abilities.
Actually The test contains some sections (so-called subtests) - on abstract, verbal, figurative thinking, etc. Results of subtests are summarized, and the average value as a result is being stood out. Hence, a person, having an outstanding figurative thinking and very poor logic, will get an average final result.
Myth â„–2 The higher IQ is, the clever its owner will be.
Actually There is a joke that high parameters of the test show not the intelligence of the person, but the ability to pass tests for factor of intelligence. In fact IQ points are a parameter of ability of the person to learn something new. It is a degree to which the person can observe and understand an event. But neither to practical mind, nor to creative abilities is related.
Myth â„–3 The person with high IQ has more chances, than others, to succeed in business.
Actually For achievement of vital success persistence and high motivation without fail should be applied on high parameters of intelligence. The person possessing high intelligence, but deprived persistence, can waste all life pending “the high time”. The person, persevered in knowledge but unmotivated by any purposes, risks to waste all possible opportunities. The combination has persistence plus of motivation, let even at absence of strongly pronounced intelligence has the greatest chances for success.
