â„–88 - Czech and Speake

October 17th, 2007 by webmaster

English brand Czech and Speake starts the history only from the end of 70th years of XX century though applies for greater. Frank Sawkins began with a collection of bathroom accessories: amalgamators and bathroom nozzles, bathing shelves and covers for toilet bowls, towel driers, soap trays and mirrors for shaving …
Certainly, everything was made of porcelain, mahogany, a brass and the nickelized metal (it is possible to cover a soap tray with platinum!). But for 25 years Czech and Speake has become a synonym of classical not striking luxury in English style and due to traditional English aromas.
Aroma â„–88 has received the name in honor of the house on Jermyn Street in London in which Frank lived - and opposite, in the house 39Ñ?, the first shop of a brand has been opened. First it was made by the designer and then and the most part of the Englishmen with sufficient incomes have followed him.
The set has only five aromas, but the cult status was received with the Eighty Eighth Number, which has become Czech and Speake’s visit card. It is unusual enough to the Europe XXI centuries and it sounds is a little bit old-fashioned. As an explanation the compounding can serve, according to perfumer John Stephens, kept from times of Queen Elizabeth, but till now sounding interestingly and is modern. Spicy wooden-flower aroma with a smoky-soap shade, №88 stands in the distance from ways of the mass market and million profits. It is a comfortable calming aroma, if to not touch with its quantity.
You will easily understand its tonality if you are familiar with the Arabian perfumery.
â„–88 Czech and Speake (John Stephen, 1981). Sandal-wood oil, bergamot, rose, geranium and acacia.
