Editions de parfums Frederic Malle - French Lover

May 20th, 2007 by webmaster

French Lover has appeared in three Parisian boutiques of Malle on April, 27th, 2007 though many did not trust that the House will dare to name the aroma with this not most refined word-combination. In the USA, where Frederic Malle has recently moved, have already declared, that the aroma will refer to differently - different variants can be offered: Latin Lover, Bois et Pimento, Spices and Minerals… On hearings, French Lover was born as a result of attempts of creation of man’s variant Angeliques sous la pluie, one of the colognes created for Malle’s collection in 2000. However these aromas have much less similarity, than distinctions.
The green fresh bitterness of galban is prolonged hardly by a dusty acuteness of burning pepper. Then pepper becomes rough and translucent, as a wind in the desert, bearing sand and grinding off a skin, a tree and stones with it. The basic chord “pepper - angelica” are accompanied with frankincense and a heat of a cedar, transparent greens of a geranium and a patchouli plant shade. The general sounding of aroma - is transparent, mineral, with distinct pepper corn. As if translucent cornelian pebble, beautiful in water, but hiding the pattern under a rough surface if to wipe dry. More polished and green (due to a geranium) variant can be heard in mineral-wood Terre d’Hermes, rougher and yellow (due to pepper and citrus) - in Piper Nigrum. At desire it is possible to find a similar wet pebble - Preparation Parfumee (Andree Putman). Special similarity with Terre d’Hermes proves to be trues a mention about vegetal animality - a chord, in which vegetative components make impression of components of an animal origin.
This aroma - is a good example of perfected, if not polished perfumery work of Pierre Burdon, which has all chances to become the best seller in collection Editions de parfums Frederic Malle. Aroma is not revolutionary and even is not pioneer. French Lover is the three-day grey bristle, adding age and brutal charm.
Frederic Malle French Lover (Pierre Bourdon, 2007): green notes, burning pepper, iris, cedar, angelica, frankincense, moss, musk.
